G-OXLA. Boeing 737-800 [26/5/06] Photo: Phil TaylorExcel Airways boosted capacity for the summer, with former Helios Airways Boeing 737-800 5B-DBH re-appearing as G-OXLB, and Miami Airways' N733MA reverting to G-OXLA.

Both were in action during the day, with 'LB heading off to Hurghada as XLA2300 and 'LA flying to Kavala and Malaga as XLA2134 & XLA248.

In the early hours, Gulfstream 550 N789RR passed through westbound and Challenger N359V also spent the first part of the day on the executive apron.

Boeing 757-200 [23/5/06] Photo: Nik FrenchFischer Air Boeing 757-200 SP-FVR positioned in Monday evening to operate the rest of Helios Airways' ZU547 Newcastle to Larnaca flight, which originally diverted in Sunday afternoon. The aircraft returned later as ZU414, eventually heading back to Warsaw.

Airbus 380 [18/5/06] Photo: Nik FrenchAlthough not a Ringway movement, plenty of interest was to be generated by the first appearance in the skies above Manchester of giant Airbus 380 demonstrator F-WWDD. The clouds parted and the aircraft flew over the city whilst inbound to Chester Hawarden late morning
