N262DB. Learjet 60 [31/3/06] Photo: Stewart AExecutive movements at NEA saw Learjet 60 N262DB touch down during the morning to nightstop, Netjets Citation XL CS-DXF visit at NJE3PF/992R, and Emirates Navy Learjet 35 UAE800 arrive early afternoon.

AP-BGZ. Boeing 777-200 [29/3/06] Photo: Denis NormanPakistan Airlines Boeing 777LR AP-BGZ again cut short its direct track to New York to visit Manchester, arriving from Lahore early evening as PK7212.

A7-AEG. Airbus 330 [29/3/06] Photo: Denis NormanOther scheduled movements included Air France Fokker 70 F-GLIT (AF2568/2569), KLM Fokker 100 PH-OFM debuting on KL1083/1084 from Amsterdam and a second visit from Qatar Airways A330 A7-AEG (QR041/042).

G-CDFS. Embraer 135 [29/3/06] Photo: Denis NormanGA traffic saw Hawker 800XP YL-MAR depart mid afternoon after a late Tuesday arrival, German Cessna 303 D-ICDE called in, and Embraer 135 G-CDFS -now flying for exclusive charter carrier Citelynx Travel, was also noted.

AP-BGZ. Boeing 777-200LR [28/3/06] Photo: Nik FrenchPakistan Airlines' latest Boeing 777-200LR AP-BGZ paid its first visit in the early hours, calling in on what would normally be the direct PK727 Karachi > New York JFK schedule.

A7-AEB. Airbus 330 [28/3/06] Photo: Rob SkinkisThe morning also saw visits from latest Etihad Airbus 330 A6-EYF (EY313/314) and Qatar Airways commence Tuesday service to Doha (QR041/042) with A330-300 A7-AEB.

D-AHLD. Boeing 737-500 [28/3/06] Photo: Nik FrenchHapag Lloyd Express were busy overnight, with T Mobile-liveried 737-500 D-AHLD positioning from Hanover to operate the outbound HLX3411 to Cologne.

SE-DMT. MD-81 [28/3/06] Photo: Nik FrenchThe aircraft replaced Nordic Leisure MD-81 SE-DMT which had earlier 'gone tech' after covering the inbound HLX3410.

A6-EYE. Airbus 330 [27/3/06] Photo: Garry RidsdaleEtihad Airways commenced a daily flight to Abu Dhabi, with Airbus 330 A6-EYE arriving at a blustery Manchester early morning on the inaugural EY313.

PH-MCR. MD-11 [27/3/06] Photo: Stewart AMartinair Cargo MD-11 PH-MCR diverted in during the lunchtime period whilst inbound Amsterdam from Seattle as MPH072, to take on fuel.

XV104. VC-10 [27/3/06] Photo: Denis NormanLater in the day, Royal Air Force VC-10 XV104 brightened up a dull afternoon, touching down as JGN36.

F-GUGL. Airbus 318 [26/3/06] Photo: Steve HallLater in the day, recently acquired Airbus 318 F-GUGL debuted on the AF1168/1169 mid evening Charles De Gaulle rotation.

G-FLTC. BAe 146 [26/3/06] Photo: Nik FrenchFlightline BAe 146 G-FLTC positioned in mid afternoon as FLT905P with Jet2 fuselage and tail titles and was soon pressed into action, departing to Gatwick as "Channex 905".

G-CDKA. Saab 2000 [26/3/06] Photo: Dan RaistrickEastern Airways upgraded to Saab 2000 G-CDKA on their early evening EZE85VM/86VM Inverness service.

CS-DKB. Gulfstream 5 [26/3/06] Photo: Denis NormanExec traffic saw nightstopping Netjets pair Gulfstream 5 CS-DKB and Hawker 400XP CS-DMA position out before midday, and Gold Air Learjet 45 G-CDNK spend the afternoon on the NEA ramp as GDA01A/01B.

G-LSAB. Boeing 757-200 [25/3/06] Photo: Phil TaylorFirst Choice borrowed Jet2 Boeing 757 G-LSAB to cover a morning charter to Geneva and back as FCA2600/2601, the aircraft later made the short hop over to Leeds.

N76065. Boeing 767-400 [25/3/06] Photo: Denis NormanContinental continue to assign 'not-so-common' to the UK examples of their Boeing 767-400 fleet, N76065 being this weeks favourite on the CO020/021 Newark schedule.

EC-JIU. Citationjet 525 [25/3/06] Photo: Steve HallAt NEA, Citationjet 525 EC-JIU remained present throughout the day, later being moved to remote parking to make way for Netjets' Hawker 400XP CS-DMA and Gulfstream 5 CS-DKB at nightfall.

A7-AEG. Airbus 330 [23/3/06] Photo: Nik FrenchA7-AEG became the fifth Qatar Airways Airbus 330 to visit Manchester displaying special Asian Games 2006 decal, this time wearing a red variation of the livery. The aircraft was operating the evening QR043/044 Doha rotation.

N76062. Boeing 767-400 [23/3/06] Photo: Nik FrenchOther notable movements during the day saw visits from Continental Airlines Boeing 767-400 N76062 on the morning CO021 C-GZNC. Boeing 767-300 [23/3/06] Photo: Denis Norman New York Newark departure and Zoom Airlines Boeing 767-300 C-GZNC from Gatwick and out to Calgary as OOM431 at nightfall.

G-BRYW. DHC-8 [22/3/06] Photo: Ken FieldingDHC-8 G-BRYW recently returned to revenue service after repair, following an incident at Aberdeen and has been repainted into full new BA Connect livery.

HB-IYV. RJ-100 [22/3/06] Photo: Rob SkinkisOne former BA aircraft moving on to pastures new recently was RJ100 G-CFAB -the aircraft now serves with Swiss International as HB-IYV and is the latest Star Alliance logo jet. It debuted as such on the LX394/395 Zurich rotation early afternoon.

OY-CEV. Citation 500 [21/3/06] Photo: Nik FrenchA mini invasion of executive aircraft overnight saw North Flying Air Service Citation 500 OY-CEV arrive shortly before midnight as NFA041 to park remote.

F-GLTK. Citation 550 [20/3/06] Photo: Stewart AStill present at NEA after nightstop was Alsair Citation 550 F-GLTK -a Monday afternoon arrival, Legacy N135SG, Hawker 800XP CS-DRA and Citation XL G-WINA.

Monday 20th March

5B-DBI. Boeing 737-800 [20/3/06] Photo: Nik FrenchAfter a recent identity crisis, Boeing 737-800 5B-DBI finally appeared in the new 'ajet.com' livery operating Helios Airways flight 560/561 from/to Larnaca in the early hours.

EI-SLD. ATR-42 [20/3/06] Photo: Stewart ALater in the day, Air Contractors continued to rotate aircraft on their evening ABR7004 (ABR4GL) Glasgow - Manchester - Stansted freight flight, with ATR-42 EI-SLD visiting.

Movements after dark included Eurowings BAe 146 D-AEWP in place of the usual CRJ from Dusseldorf (LH4884/4885), and Embraer Legacy N135SG, touching down as UVN1538 to park at the exec ramp.

Trident Scrapped

Trident G-ARPK [Photo: Steve Hall]The airframe of Trident 1 G-ARPK (C/n 2111), utilised by the airport fire service for almost a quarter of a century, was recently broken up and removed in a move which is expected to see a purpose-built fire training rig replace 'PK 'southside'.

Sunday 19th March

A7-AEF_DR_190306.jpg (84641 bytes)Qatar Airways Airbus 330-300 A7-AEF provided a dash of colour on an otherwise dull morning, operating the QR042 departure to Doha wearing the distinctive Asian Games livery.

D-COKE_DR_190306.jpg (122672 bytes)German Air Rescue visited for the second consecutive Sunday, this time Learjet 35 D-COKE appeared, in from Poprad and out to Karlsruhe as AMB265.

G-BWIR_DR_190306.jpg (102190 bytes)Scot Airways Dornier 328 G-BWIR touched down from Stansted late afternoon as SAY355, with the West Ham football 'squad' on board, in town for their Monday cup match against Manchester City.

D-CPRY_DR_190306.jpg (106856 bytes)Recently acquired former Minerva Dornier 328 D-CPRY again featured on the evening Sun Air Billund schedule. The aircraft has marks OY-NCE reserved.

G-JECL. DHC-8 400 [18/3/06] Photo: Nik FrenchDHC-8 400 G-JECL operated the early morning BE181/182 Belfast rotation. The aircraft -currently the newest member of the FlyBe. fleet, this week became a flying tribute to the late footballer George Best.

G-OOOG. Boeing 757-200 [18/3/06] Photo: Nik FrenchFirst Choice Boeing 757-200 G-OOOG recently received a fresh coat of paint into the livery of Astraeus pending ownership transfer to the UK charter operator.

VP-BKZ. Gulfstream 5 [17/3/06] Photo: Stewart AContinuing the Midlands theme, Birmingham-based Gulfstream 5 VP-BKZ called in briefly during the afternoon, present for around thirty minutes.

D-AICN. Airbus 320 [16/3/06] Photo: Denis NormanThomas Cook Airbus 320 G-TCKE appeared from the Monarch Engineering hangar as D-AICN early afternoon and after a spell in the engine test bay, left for pastures new after dark on lease to Condor as DE9670.

XX169 + XX217. Hawk [16/3/06] Photo: Tim BroganRAF Valley based Hawk trainer pair XX169 and XX217 provided an alternative from the normal, performing a low approach and go-around early afternoon.
