Malaysian Boeing 747-400 9M-MPM departed in the rain for Seoul early evening as MAS8167. The aircraft carries small Manchester United Asia Tour 2007 titles on the fuselage.

Malaysian Airlines made a return to Manchester, albeit positioning in to operate a charter, with Boeing 747-400 9M-MPM arriving mid afternoon from Kuala Lumpur to nightstop.

World Airways MD-11 N271WA was in action for MyTravel during the day, flying to Menorca and later to Las Palmas.

World Airways MD-11 N271WA arrived in the usual summer gloom during the evening, positioning in with MyTravel callsign MYT007R.

Globespan continue to use a Boeing 737-800 on Fridays from Hamilton, with G-DLCH operating the latest GSM104/103 flight.

At NEA Citation 560 F-GJXX made a return visit early morning, C550 N550FP arrived as FYG791 and NetJets Gulf 5 CS-DKB (NJE960T) touched down mid evening.

Atlantic Airlines Electra G-LOFD "Neptune716/717" paid a visit during the night, passing through on a freight charter from Coventry to Shannon.

From something old to something new, Air Berlin A319 D-ABGE operated from Hamburg mid morning and Emirates 777-300 A6-ECB debuted from Dubai.

Libyan Arab sent one of their own aircraft for a change, with Airbus 300 5A-DLY arriving from Tripoli mid afternoon as LAA106.

Saudi Air Force KE-3A (Boeing 707) 1815 arrived early afternoon as RSAF382 to Stand 62 initially, though later repositioned to remote parking near Terminal 2.

Zoom UK Boeing 767-300 G-UKZM passed through during the morning, departing to London Gatwick as UKZ01B.

Also during the morning, new Turkish Airlines Airbus 321 TC-JRE took a bow on the THY1993/1994 schedule from Istanbul.

Air Blue continue to operate a five-times weekly evening flight from Islamabad with Airbus 321 equipment. AP-BJB being the latest to fly ABQ220 replacing the 'usual' BJA.

Citationjet 525B OO-FPC touched down mid afternoon, calling "FlyingGroup251", to park on the NEA ramp overnight.

Boeing 737-700 D-ABBW continues to visit from Hamburg, the aircraft wears a basic white livery awaiting repaint into new Air Berlin colours.

Boeing 737-800 D-ABBX (BER8264 "394S") arrived from Hamburg late morning displaying new Air Berlin and LTU post-merger paint.

Saudi Boeing 777-200 HZ-AKC also graced the Ringway tarmac, operating the SVA123/124 Geneva extension flight.

A sight not expected to seen on a daily basis was that of DHC-8 400 G-JECL on approach with a prop stopped, the aircraft diverting from Edinburgh to Southampton.

Execs galore with Citationjet2 pair M-XONE (VP-BFC) and OO-CIV plus Citation 560 Ultra SE-RGY all noted at NEA.

Aer Arann showed off a change of livery during the day with new build ATR-72 EI-REL visiting from Galway & Sligo for the first time. 

NetJets Hawker 800 CS-DRU made the short hop over from Chester during the afternoon for a spell on the NEA ramp, departing to Luton before the heavens opened as NJE245N.

Finnair sent newly delivered Embraer 190 OH-LKH from Helsinki for a first visit, operating the morning FIN933/934.

Boeing Business Jet A6-RJZ "Royal Jet 1" made the short hop up from Luton, touching down in the early evening sunshine (in case anyone was wondering what that yellow thing was in the sky after recent weeks!!).

Omni Air DC-10 N531AX arrived from Shannon during the morning to operate for MyTravel Airways on a charter to Tenerife and back as MYT241/242.

DHC-8 400 G-JECX was in action on based FlyBe. flights to and from Glasgow during the afternoon and evening.

ACT Air Cargo Airbus 300 TC-ACZ operated a freight charter during the morning using ABC Air Hungary flight number AHU9007.

Aircraft changes amongst the based operators include Jet2 Boeing 757-200 G-LSAI which continues in place of the usual resident G-LSAE and FlyBe. DHC-8 400 G-JECX, an evening arrival from Jersey (BEE556) to nightstop.

GA/Executive movements aplenty with noteworthy visits from 'Luton lurker' Raytheon Premier N800FR and Air Alsie BAE125 OY-RAA ("Mermaid6235").

Malmo Aviation RJ-100 SE-DSX visited from Malmo and out to Gothenburg on a charter during the morning, wearing a livery to promote a Swedish financial newspaper.

Not to be outdone by the first visit of Air Berlin Boeing 737-700 D-ABBW from Hamburg earlier in the day, TUIfly sent a new 'Yellow Cab' in the shape of D-AHXD from Stuttgart operating HLX4210/4211 ("36M/92M") mid evening.

Emirates sent Boeing 777-300 A6-EBU in for its first visit operating the UAE19/20 Dubai flight during the evening.

Learjet 40 EC-JYY arrived early morning calling OKT401 to daystop at NEA, later joined by Citation 550 N198ND, the obligatory NetJet in the shape of Falcon 2000 CS-DLC (NJE977R from Geneva) and Agusta 109 EI-HHH.

Belavia intend to use a mix of aircraft types throughout July on their weekly flight from Minsk. The latest BRU853/854 schedule operated by Tupolev 154 EW-85748.

Early evening saw new Titan Airways acquisition, Boeing 737-300 G-POWC position in as "Channex060P" from Stansted.

ATRAN Antonov 12 RA-93913 remained parked throughout on the west apron. The aircraft will eventually have to flout the new UK smoking in public places ban (!!), with departure planned before midday on Monday.

Jett8 Boeing 747 9V-JEA (previously JA8192 with Nippon Cargo) headed off eastbound after its first Manchester nightstop, departing as JEC802 in sunshine (the sun still exists!!) during the morning.

Other traffic during the day included an early morning visit from Citationjet 525 OO-IDE to the NEA ramp (re-appearing briefly later), and Air Memphis MD-83 SU-BME flying for Libyan Arab on their LAA106 Tripoli schedule.

Evening visitors of note were Air Berlin Airbus 320 D-ABDA in from Hamburg for the first time operating the BER8264/8265 schedule and G5 Executive Gulf 550 HB-JEV on its second visit, calling "Batman272/273".
