The day started with a return Hajj flight: Royal Jordanian A310 JY-AGN in from and out to Amman mid morning as RJ6463/4.

The afternoon saw an execjet invasion for the Chelsea v Manchester United domestic football cup semi final. Citation 550 F-GNCP (HAT326A), Learjet CS-DDZ (OAV306), King Air F-GBPB and GlobEx LX-VIP (SVW123P) were noted amongst the usual crowd.

Ryanair 737-800 EI-DCO paid its first visit on the evening FR558/9 Dublin flight, departing shortly before Chelsea netted a late winning goal at Old Trafford.

Private Wings Dornier 328 D-CPWF operated for Sun Air on their early morning SUS45U/46U Billund flight and during the afternoon, Air Berlin continued to rotate use of the Germania Fokker 100 with D-AGPA appearing on AB8480 from Dusseldorf.

A blast of cold and a blast from the past as classic executive Boeing 707 N88ZL made an early morning fuel stop at a frosty Ringway whilst heading westbound.

For a change this winter, Ryanair sent a Boeing 737-800 during daylight hours, with EI-DAX operating the early FR553 departure to Dublin.

737-300 G-CELZ positioned in from Edinburgh in the early hours to operate the Jet2 schedule to Murcia as LS863 and back mid afternoon as LS864.

GlobEx N14R arrived at NEA mid morning to nightstop on the apron. It was joined for a time during the evening by Hawker 800XP N351TC.

Air Berlin continue to employ Germania's large fleet of Fokker 100 aircraft, with D-AGPD making its second visit on the afternoon AB8480/1 Dusseldorf flight.

City Airline recently acquired former Jetmagic Embraer 135 G-CDFS, and it paid visits #2 & 3 to Manchester during the day operating both CF001 + CF005 Gothenburg schedules.

Citationjet 525 F-HASC arrived mid morning to park on NEA, where it would later be joined by Challenger 604 D-ANKE (JCX806).

BMI Embraer 135 G-RJXL operated from Manchester throughout the day, returning to nightstop. Ryanair Boeing 737-800 EI-DAX operated the evening FR559 departure to Dublin from new parking position at Terminal 1.

Another day, another 'new' Germania Fokker 100: D-AGPS paid its first visit from Dusseldorf as AB8480/8481 during the afternoon.

Learjet 35 SE-DZZ headed a large list of executive movements touching down after lunch to nightstop at NEA.

One Lear departing NEA was Canadian '35 model C-FPRP which headed back across the Atlantic via Iceland mid morning.

Former British Airways and European Aviation Boeing 747-200 G-BDXJ re-appeared at Ringway Wednesday afternoon wearing the colours of Air Atlanta Europe and departed to Sanford at midday on EUK132.

Evening movements included Swe Fly Fokker 50 SE-LTS, flying for City Airline on their evening Gothenburg CF05B/06B service, Qatar Airways A330 A7-ACF on its second visit and Ryanair 737-800 EI-DAJ on the FR559 Dublin departure.

AMC Aviation Airbus 310 SU-BOW made a delayed return visit arriving early morning as AMV8088 to park off Terminal 2 for the day before departure to Jeddah at nightfall.

Virgin Airbus 340 G-VELD operated the first in a series of cruise charters, from Heathrow and on to San Juan as VS9931.

Netjets Gulfstream 5 N506QS departed after an overnight stay. Learjet 31 EI-MAX was also noted still at NEA during the day.

The breezy weather continued and caused the visit of Wizz Air Airbus 320 HA-LPF during the morning as WZZ405W (Liverpool flight), whilst Emirates Boeing 777-300 A6-EMQ (operating EK017) made three attempts to land before diverting to Heathrow.

Austrian commenced a weekly charter to Innsbruck with Austrian arrows Fokker 70 OE-LFL visiting as AUA63MA/64MA and bmi Embraer 135 G-RJXL made its first appearance from Aberdeen early on as BD3703.

Boeing 737-300QC TF-ELN assisted in the airlift of Exeter supporters from the south west for their afternoon, FA Cup match at Manchester United, touching down mid-morning to daystop.

AMC Aviation Airbus 310 SU-BOW operated a delayed Hajj charter, arriving from and departing to Jeddah early morning as AMV8046/8146.

Other visitors of note during a stormy day saw FlyBe. operate the first in a series of planned charters during the weekend, with BAe 146 G-JEBG (BE8002) and DHC-8 400 G-JEDU (BE8004) both visiting from Exeter during the day.

Netjets Citation XL CS-DFU paid a first visit as NJE828P/5936 from Northolt and to Heathrow, and Learjet 35 N54PA, arriving mid-afternoon to nightstop with NEA.

Evening movements of note included a first visit from Qatar A330 A7-ACF on QR043/044, Ryanair 737-800 EI-DCE again on FR558/559 -now scheduled as a B738 daily, and Futura 737-800 EC-IUC in from Lanzarote as FUA1723 and back out empty to Tenerife as FUA724P.
