G-JECU. DHC-8 400 [18/2/07] Photo: Dan RaistrickKLM Fokker 100 PH-OFP (the former PT-MRP) visited for the first time from Amsterdam on the KLM1073/4 early rotation, whilst at dusk FlyBe. DHC-8 400 G-JECU made the hop up from Exeter as BEE375.

Gulfstream 550 D-ADCA diverted in at daybreak whilst enroute Luton > Liverpool > Stuttgart as DCS614 and later in the morning, Challenger 600 D-BUSY departed as "Premium496". Gulf 550 N3050 vacated NEA after a four day stay mid afternoon.

Other executive movements during the day included the departure of Challenger 604 D-AUKE after nightstop, plus visits from Learjet 45 CS-TLW (OAV366) and CL600 D-BUSY (PMU530).

ATR-42 [12/2/07] Photo: Denis NormanAn odd movement saw Aurigny ATR-42 G-CDFF arrive mid afternoon wearing former Air Wales basic livery with small Flightline fuselage titles, position in on a EuroManx callsign. The Isle of Man carrier subsequently cancelled remaining flights across the Irish Sea and the aircraft left as FLT079P. Phew!

A day of 'new' things to look at, at Ringway continued apace with Iberworld A330 EC-JHP operating for Thomas Cook as TCX052L to New Orleans, XL Airways 757 G-VKNA rebranded in new company colours, overnight arrival Globespan 737 G-CDEG heading back to Stansted and amongst a gaggle of Birmingham snow diversions, sparkly Ryanair 737 EI-DPI debuted from Dublin (RYR556), as did Qatar Airways' A330 A7-AEI from Doha (QTR043).

As a result, Manchester Airport was kept busy with diversions. Pick of the many included Etihad Boeing 777-300 A6-ETB (ETD 307 Abu Dhabi > Gatwick and will nightstop), Air Berlin A320 D-ABDL (BER8460 Nuremberg > Stansted), LZ-WZA of WizzAir (WZZ201B Budapest > Luton) and Sun Express Boeing 757 TC-SND (SXS160 Antalya > Stansted).

Iberia Airbus 321 EC-JDR touched down through the moisture at midday, arriving with the Spanish national football team off for their midweek fixture with England. The aircraft returned to Madrid an hour later.

Boeing 737-800 [4/2/07] Photo: Dan RaistrickEarlier in the day, the 'elusive' thus far Ryanair Boeing 737-800 EI-DLW finally showed its hand, making a 2nd visit from Dublin amongst a flush of Liverpool-based company 737s, which all went west as RYR01P-05P either side of midday after an overnight stay.

Poor visibility during the afternoon caused diversions away, but those that did make it in before the fog descended included second visits from Qatar A330 A7-ACK, Sky Europe 737-700 OM-NGG from Bratislava/Salzburg and Austrian Lauda Boeing 737-800 OE-LNP on the weekly Innsbruck ski charter.
