Air Great Wall commenced a new four times weekly Shangai freight flight during the morning, with Boeing 747-400F B-2429 touching down in the sunshine as CGW8744 and welcomed with a water cannon salute by the Airport.

A day of diverse movements continued with the arrival of Canadair 415 C-FLFW (intended for France as '48') mid afternoon from Reykjavik as BFO465 to park off the NEA ramp.

Finnair Boeing 757-200 OH-LBR (with winglets) positioned in late morning from Helsinki as FIN7277 for XL Airways ops and will nightstop.

Batavia A320 PK-YVD (G-JOEM) departed on delivery to Larnaca shortly before dusk as BTV449.

A day which started with a 'bang' (after Thomsonfly Boeing 757-200 G-BYAW suffered a bird strike and engine failure on take off and had to return) later saw airliner first visits include Emirates Boeing 777-300 A6-EBZ on UAE17/18, Ryanair pair EI-DPN (RYR552 + 558) and EI-DPV (RYR554) plus another Lufthansa CRJ-900 in the form of D-ACKE from Munich mid morning.

'Germania' Boeing 737-300 D-AGEK again operated a TUIfly evening schedule, this time arriving from Stuttgart as "HLX36M" (4210).

Airbus 320 PK-YVD (ex G-JOEM) appeared outside the MyTravel Engineering hangar during the day in preparation for delivery to new operator Batavia Air.

An otherwise quiet afternoon saw Beech 200 King Air G-MEGN arrive for a one hour stay on the Northern Executive ramp.

Challenger 300 N866TM made a quick visit mid morning, parking on the NEA ramp, whilst later in the day, Rabbit Air Falcon 2000 HB-IAX arrived from Zurich as RBB151.

Evening traffic included another visit from North East livery Eastern Airways Jetstream 41 G-MAJM from Inverness and 'Germania' 737-300 D-AGEK on the TUIFly Cologne schedule (HLX97P/29J = 4110/4111).

Exec and GA traffic included the morning arrivals of CitationJet F-GMIR & Cessna Caravan G-GOTF and later in the day, Birmingham resident Citation 560 G-JOPT touched down for NEA parking.

Thomas Cook Boeing 757-200 C-FMCF (G-JMCF) returned from winter lease in Canada with Skyservice, arriving early morning from Toronto.

Air Berlin Airbus 320 D-ABDF made a first visit operating the BER8264/8265 schedule from Hamburg.

China Airlines Cargo Boeing 747-400F B-18725 visited from Taipei for the first time during the afternoon on their CAL5605 freight flight.

The evening saw new Sky Europe Boeing 737-700 OM-NGL assigned to ESK190/191 (5KT/6KT) from Bratislava.

At NEA, Falcon 10 F-GHDX arrived early doors to daystop amongst the last few post-'football traffic' outbounds.

A day mainly dominated by GA & executive traffic, most in connection with the evening football at Old Trafford with afternoon arrivals amongst the many including recently-registered Falcon 900 I-FLYS, Falcon 2000 pair D-BAMA and VP-BBP, Learjet 45 I-DFSL and Citation XL D-CTTT (AUF222).

Gulfstream 400 N161MM touched down overnight as NWD161 to park on the west apron off Terminal2.

Livingston Airbus 321 I-LIVA arrived shortly after midday with the AC Milan football team on board for their Tuesday match at Manchester United.

Air Medical PA-42 Cheyenne 3 G-GZRP made the transfer from the Canadian register in January (C-GZRP) and visited for the first time as MCD057 late afternoon.

Showing signs of former United Nations use, Enimex Antonov 72 ER-AVD made a visit late afternoon as ENI400/401, departing to Shannon.

CSA Airbus 319 OK-MEL dodged some of the first April showers of April, operating the early afternoon CSA644/645 Prague flight.

Air Berlin fleet addition Boeing 737-800 D-ABBZ (formerly TC-SKC) touched down at dusk for a first visit, operating the BER8112/8113 Paderborn schedule.

Much earlier in the day, Aladia Boeing 757-200 XA-JPB returned from winter lease and will no doubt revert to G-JMCE for summer use by Thomas Cook Airlines imminently.

Lufthansa CRJ-900 D-ACKF paid its first visit from Munich during the morning as DLH8ET/4PH (4860/4861).

Another busy day for executive movements started with the visit of Citation 650 D-CRRR (FSD213) and busy spell mid afternoon saw Gulfstream 4 pair N770SC and N7UF sneak in.

FlyGlobespan Boeing 757-200 G-CEJM positioned from Glasgow during the morning to operate the GSM101 departure to Toronto, taking over from 767 G-CEFG.

A day of 'first visits' also included Finnair Embraer 190 OH-LKF on the evening Helsinki flight, Air Baltic 737 YL-BBQ from Riga on BTI671 and Monarch Airlines A321 G-OZBN pressed into service to Alicante (MON682) and later Tenerife (MON568).

Exec arrivals included a pair of Citations .. '750 N755PT touching down at breakfast time and later, Sundt Air '560XL LN-EXL in as "Midnight1".

Mid afternoon saw a brief call and first of type visit from Eclipse Aviation Eclipse 500 N505EA, passing through eastbound using company callsign EJT132.

Lufthansa Regional CRJ-900 D-ACKA took its turn to make its debut appearance on the mid-morning DLH4860 Munich schedule.

Executive traffic aplenty throughout the day including the arrivals of Gulfstream 4 VP-CMR before midday.

'Good Friday' continued a short time later with the first visit as such of Air Baltic Boeing 737-300 YL-BBP from Riga.

Earlier in the day, the morning BER8014/8015 Stansted rotation was covered by former flyDBA liveried 737-300 D-ADII.
