ANTONOV 225 'MRIYA' 'UR-82060' [C/n 19530503763]

  • Sunday 1st October 2006 saw something a bit different to the normal occur at Manchester Airport when the mighty Antonov Design Bureau Antonov 225 landed in the North West. Widely regarded as the largest in service transport aircraft in the world, UR-82060 arrived at 14:56L on a positioning flight as ADB116F for an overnight stay. Ramp services were provided by Manchester Handling.

  • UR-82060 spent Monday on Stand 80 (adjacent Terminal 2), with freight loaded throughout the day and into the evening on Tuesday 3rd October.

  • Wednesday 4th October saw freight loading completed, with the aircraft making preparations for departure.

  • UR-82060 finally departed a wet Manchester on Thursday 5th October, on Runway 24L to Tripoli at 12:09L as "Alpha Delta Bravo 1264".
