BOEING 777-240LR 'AP-BGY' [C/n 33781/504]

HOMEPAGE

  • Pakistan Airlines accepted their first Longer Range Boeing 777-200LR 'Worldliner' from the manufacturer on Sunday 26th February 2006. The aircraft staged through Manchester Airport on delivery to the carrier. AP-BGY departed Everett, Paine Field at 1629L on Saturday 25th February as flight PK7772, crossing the Atlantic in 8 hours 37 minutes for a Runway 06R arrival at 0906L.

  • After a water canon salute from the Airport fire service to signal the event, AP-BGY joined several other members of the fleet at the airlines' Terminal 2 hub before collecting passengers for the next sector to Islamabad. PK7722 rotated from Runway 06L at 1148L into a cold and overcast North West sky.

  • Although at a glance no different to the previous three 'standard' Boeing 777-240ER in the fleet, AP-BGY was a first visit of the new generation of 777 aircraft in the Boeing portfolio, and as usual, Manchester Airport photographers turned out in force for the occasion. Special thanks to Dale Coleman, Keith Costello, Tom Gibbons, Ken Fielding, Nik French, Shabaz Hashmi, Denis Norman, Matt McNulty, Mike Obern, Rick Savage, Phil Taylor and Keith Wignall for their help in making this page possible.
